The Hunger Games - book review

This fantasy triumphs reality

Based in the post apocalyptic world, the story is narrated by Katniss Everdeen a sixteen year old girl, she lives in district 12 with her mother and younger sister. She is unfortunately chosen for the hunger games which is a battle that the government holds every year for entertainment and to terrify the citizens to live by the rules. Katniss is a hunter and so she stands a chance in this battle that gets televised all over the world. Every district has to have two players Katniss has volunteered to rescue her little sister prim, also chosen is a young boy named Pete. Katniss and Pete are forced to fight against 14 other tributes or participants including each other. The rule is only one winner shall live. So the story gets intense when Katniss starts to fall in love with Pete. She saves his life and rebels in every way possible. Katniss is transformed from the simple village girl into a beautiful glamorous warrior like avatar. She wins the hunger games and saves Pete. The story ends before their return home to district 12, after the epic battle.which is the beginning of a love triangle between Katniss, Pate and Gale (her hunting companion).
Intense, Interesting and exceptionally well written.
